Darrell W. Harris is presently a Quality Advisor for a Major project on the North Slope of Alaska. Darrell’s past employment include 30 years in the Construction and Maintenance within the Petrochemical, Structural Steel and Power industry in the USA and overseas. These activities encompassed QA and QC positions with the Owner of the Facilities or Assets and Providers of Engineering, Construction and Inspection services. These positions have included Operations Manager, Director of Quality, QA Manager, QC Manager, New Technologies Manager, Corporate Level III, Project Manager, Supervisor, Instructor and Auditor. These positions have included small, medium and large organizations with up to 5,000 employees.
Darrell has specialized in oversight of challenging or complex projects. Trained and certified in many advanced Inspection and NDT techniques including both standard and unique applications. This experience has been shared during training as an instructor including NDT, Quality and Project Management Training classes.
Darrell has been a member of ASNT since 1987 and is a past chair and currently a director of the Alaska section of ASNT. His national ASNT involvement includes service as National Director for 2 terms, Certification Management Council Past Chairman, Leak Testing Committee Past Chairman, Standards Development Committee past member and membership on the, SNT-TC-1A Review Committee, MFL Committee, and the Electromagnetic committee.
His current certifications include: ASNT NDT Level III in UT, RT, MT, PT, ET, LT, VT, ML ASNT ACCP Professional Level III in MT, PT, RT, UT, VT, Past EN-473 NDT Level III in MT, PT, RT, UT, API-510, API-653, API-570, AWS-SCWI, ASQ-CQA, NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist, Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist for Pipelines, CIP Level III, IRCA QMS 2008 Auditor and PMI-PMP
Mr. Harris is also a member of NACE, AWS, Senior member of ASQ and PMI where he served as the President of the Alaska Section. Darrell was also recognized by ASNT and named a Fellow of the society in 2005 and Mentor award in 2011.
